Hello NLRS land.
By now you should know that Aurora'26, the Upper Midwest's largest gathering of VHF+ enthusiast, will be held on Saturday, May 30th.
Registration is open.
Conference fees are $5 for an individual, $7 for a family, and free to first-time attendees. All the information you need, including how to register, can be found on our club's website at https://nlrs.club/#Aurora%20Conference . Please make sure you register
now if you are planning on attending the o
nsite pizza party lunch. The party is a good value at just $10 and its a great way to socialize with your like minded VHF+ friends.
Following our morning outside session, we will kick off the inside program at 1:00 PM sharp with our NLRS business meeting. Regarding the business meeting:
- For all club members please review last years business meeting minutes found on are clubs website at https://nlrs.club/docs/Aurora25MeetingMinutes.pdf . By reviewing these ahead of the business meeting we can save time rather than having to read them there.
- It is an election year. Nominations for all three club officers will be opened during the meeting.
- We also need to vote on the previously posted proposed change to our clubs bylaws that states what a member in good standing is and defines a quorum. This topic is discussed in full in the 2025 business meeting notes per the link above.
Following our business meeting, our Technical Program will be as follows:
- Building the 5760 MHz W1GHZ Transverter by Charlie Betz, N0AKC
- Some New Adventures In EME by Charlie Betz, N0AKC
- Optical Communications Update by Rob Jahnke, K0XL
- The Excitement of 10GHz Rainscatter While Portable by Bruce Richardson, W9FZ
- AI-Assisted 222 MHz Yagi-Uda Design by James "JB" Anderson, K8OS
- The 222.057 MHz W0ZQ/B Using An RFZero Board by Jon Platt, W0ZQ (as time allows)
I hope to see everyone at Aurora'26. Ask questions if you've got them.
73, Jon
