Agreed. This is what I use on a regular basis for my portable operating. Usually just for my grid and seeing that the moon is up between the satellites. Looks like a lot more features than I've used, yet.

I just realized that I only sent the reply to Jon. Here it is to NLRS, as others may be interested. We did talk about it at breakfast last Saturday.
The only problem I have with HamGPS is that it doesn't give you the reverse bearing for the other station to use. Still, just have them add 180° and let them figure it out.

Hi Jon,
I like HamGPS. If you had asked yesterday I could have demoed it for you.
It shows your Grid to 10 digits. What I like is you can preset the target locations from four to 10 digits if you want. To find a site info go to the target list and you will see that list of sites you have entered, the name /grid square (up to 10 digits), the distance and bearing. The main page has a display of the satellites being received and a directional arrow to the target. I don't find this arrow very useful though. It depends on magnetic compass in the phone. If you need to find a bearing to someone not already in the list you just use the "set target" on the main screen upper right, then the main screen shows what you need.

Hello NLRS land
What is the latest and greatest Android cell phone app for rovers? Tells you what grid you are in and bearings to other grids, and makes you a cup of coffee.
Sorry, not an Apple guy.
