Mel has been a great friend for over 50yrs. He was alway inquisitive, curious, learning, and experimenting. He was always a joy to be with. The last project we worked on was the NanoVNA. Mel really enjoyed learning how to use it and became an expert with the NanoVNA and NanoVNA Saver software. He was always so helpful to anyone and was the quintessential ham. He will be missed so much but we will never forget the great times we had.

Wow, very sad to hear this. Like most of you, I have known Mel for many
years, even before I became interested in weak signal VHF.  I met Mel on
the old North Star 10-10 net out of Rochester back in the late 70's /
early 80's and probably met him in person for the first time at the
Rochester Hamfest around the same time.

Mel was a unique guy and he is going to be missed.
