Hello NLRS Land!

Just another friendly reminder... ***AURORA'24 is only 10 days away!***

Registration for this year's event has been a little too slow for comfort here in registration land, especially from those of you who are interested in participating in the pizza party lunch. *** Remember...if you wish to participate in the Pizza Lunch that you must send payment with your registration form, and your registration form and payment must be received by May 30, 2024 in order for us to order enough food. With the pokey delivery times by the USPS, it's best to register soon!***

Here's the details again about this year's event:

When: Saturday, June 1, 2024, 0900-1700 CDT
Where: West Medicine Lake Community Club, 1705 Forestview Lane North, Plymouth, MN 55441

From 0900 to 1130, Donn, WA2VOI, and friends will be running the the outdoor antenna test range (weather permitting). Bring along your antennas and check out their performance for the upcoming VHF+ season and contests!

Also during the morning hours is a lot of socializing, show and tell, and casual demonstrations. Share your VHF+ operating stories and photos from the recent mongo CME and Aurora event! Inquiring minds want to know!

For lunch, it's the return of the on-site Pizza Party Lunch! This was a big hit last year that we’ve decided to do it again this year! Keep all the morning conversations going with your fellow NLRSers by joining us for an on-site, super tasty pizza lunch. For $10, you will get 2 large deep dish pieces of Jet’s pizza, a large cookie for dessert, and a 20 oz bottle of pop/soda or water. It’s optional, of course, but by joining in the fun, you won’t have to rush off-site to lunch at a local restaurant and then race back to make the first talks of the conference.

The technical programs start at 1300 and typically run until 1700 or 1730. We have some great talks this year! Take a look!....

  • The Circular Folded Dipole for 50 MHz -  K0XL
  • 902 EME WAS Pursuit From The Corn Fields of Iowa - K0DAS, AC0RA, N0LNO
  • NLRS Business Meeting
  • A Novel 'CoCo' Antenna for 6m - K8OS
  • VHF Rover Grid DXpedition - W0ZF, AE0EE
Aurora is always a good time to see, learn and to share ideas with like-minded fellow VHFers.  If you know of someone who has a growing interest in this facet of our amazing hobby, invite them along.  Please share this information with others.
