Congratulations Jon on the partial success.  Yes a single looper really does not have a lot of gain !

You need to consider also that you take a 3 dB  hit because the EME stations are using circular polarity.  

A 4 ft dish with CP feed would certainly be much better.

Its nice to see that you have modified your rig for 3400 vs 3456. I have done that but no one to QSO locally
