Hi Mel,

Well, since 50 and 144 are NOT included in the 222 & Up Distance contest, no worries there BUT the 'FT8 watering holes' seem to be settled on 50.313 and 144.174 for those two bands (which ARE in this weekend's CQ WW VHF Contest!).

Others can likely answer better than me regarding the bands going up but I've noticed that xxx.174 has been somewhat popular since, for folks using transverters with 28 MHz IF, that allows them to leave their IF radio set at 28.174 as they go up to 222 and 432.

Different story on 902, 1296 and 2304 since 2 meters is typically the IF for transverters on those bands BUT given the popularity of 144.174 for 2 meters, using that as the IF frequency for those bands yields the xxx.174 pattern - 902.174, 1296.174 and 2304.174.

As I have YET to make a QSO on VHF & Up, I'm certainly NOT an authority, so I invite those who HAVE such experience to correct me and comment further.

Trying to get ready for FT8 on 222 & up distance contest in August. What frequencies
are being used on 50, 144, 222, 432, 902, 1296, 2304 MHz ? Do most people use common
watering holes or is most of it by prior arrangement on a user selected frequency ?
Any info will be a help to get me lined up.
