Hello Badgers and NLRS’ers:

Over the past three years, many of you in the region have mentioned that you’d like to help at the event if needed.

Well, as we get close to the event, I will tell you there are places/activities where you can help.

Noise Figure lab needs at least one assistant to help line up devices to be tested, help log data, and enter results data into a laptop.  Noise Figure lab chief is Doug Carlson AD0CX.

Rover Row and Dish Bowl chief is Mike Metroka WB8BZK.  I believe he could use one assistant for hanging banners, placing cordoning ropes, and otherwise assist with him.

Friday evening, many hands are needed to move tables and chairs to configure the room to a safe TradeFest configuration.  By that I mean, the chairs become a tripping hazard and we should move/stack them to the side.  After the TradeFest is over, we need to make the room look exactly like we found it.

Party Suite Meister is Al Schlaugat N9ISN.  He says he has stocking and hosting the Party Suite under control.  I will say that we all should try to keep the Party Suite bussed and picked up.  If you are around at the end of the night, help tidy it up for the next day.

Registration table could use two to four assistants.  Particularly on Thursday (1:30p to 5p) and Friday morning.  I want to not have any one person spend too many hours away from “the conference” so that you miss the conference.  But you could be a BIG help for the time you do pledge.

Saturday afternoon, right after the Business Meeting, while I have to be at a Quick BOD meeting, I need people to bring prizes to the prize table and be “Table Guard”.  It’s a particularly stressful time while each of us tries to get dressed for dinner and enjoy the cocktail hour, we have this work of moving prizes and placing them pleasingly on the prize table.

If we have a child attending, they could help us picking prize tickets after dinner.

Thursday night, I could use one person to get to the gangplank of the paddleboat early and have our roster of participants on a clipboard.  I think the technical phrase is “passenger manifest”.

At Friday and Saturday luncheon, I could use one person to collect luncheon tickets and compare them with the roster of luncheon participants.

Janice, KA9VVQ, will be the photographer helping us document the event.  However, if any of you get pictures during the event, don’t hesitate to work with me on sharing those photos with me afterward.

I know some special photos that I want to set up are:

222 WAS hams from the Wayback

222 WAS hams from the recent

Fred Fish Chasers who have made it

Fred Fish Chasers who are getting close or are enjoying the hunt

The universe of 122 GHz equipment and ops that are at the event

If one of these tasks sounds like a good match for you, just let me know.  If you are flexible, I may ask you to pitch in on one of the above tasks.

Thanks for considering. But make sure you ENJOY the event!
