[NLRS] Not Coming to Aurora26 this Saturday? ***PLEASE PROXY VOTE NOW!***

Hello NLRS Land,

Well, Aurora '26 is just 2 days away, and while you can no longer 
register for the pizza lunch, walk-in registrations are allowed and 
encouraged! The more the merrier at AU26!

But if you can't make this year's event, we still need your 
participation in the vote to change the club's constitution and bylaws 
(C&B) regarding the definition of a member in good standing and the 
definition of a quorum. You can do this by proxy, which means that you 
can simply send me (Janice, KA9VVQ, the club's secretary and treasurer) 
an email (to ka9vvq at fastmail.us) before the business meeting (Saturday, 
May 30th at 1 pm)  that states whether you approve or disapprove of the 
changes to the definition of membership and quorum. You can learn more 
about the proposed changes by reading last year's business meeting 
minutes (see pages 2-3), which are posted on the club's website here:

You may be wondering why I'm being such a pest about proxy voting. After 
the club went with "no dues membership" a few years ago, our member roll 
has nearly doubled to 157 members. This is great news, of course, and it 
has led to a significant improvement in Aurora attendance over the past 
few years as well, going from the mid 30s to about 48-50 attendees each 
year.  The club's current C&B says that a quorum requires 1/3 of current 
members to be present to conduct business at the business meeting. Well, 
1/3 of 157 is 52, which is right at the ragged edge of the last few 
year's Aurora attendance, and about 5-10 higher than the number of 
members that attend the afternoon business meeting. So this year's vote 
on changing the membership and quorum language is designed to eliminate 
this dilemma. But to make this change, we still need to operate using 
the old quorum rules. SO EVEN IF YOU CAN''T MAKE THIS YEAR'S AURORA 
BUSINESS MEETING WE STILL NEED YOUR PROXY VOTE!!!

Really, folks, if you consider yourself a member of the NLRS, it's not 
asking too much of you to spend a couple minutes to email me with your 
vote on these two important changes to the club's C&B. Again, if you're
