Hello NLRS Land!

Just another friendly reminder that the *Aurora '26 Conference* is *only
15 days away*!!! Please register soon!!!

Registration started out well soon after registration opened, but it's
been a little quiet these last couple of weeks. So please folks, get
your registration form in the mail soon!!! I've noted from the regs
already received *that it takes about 3-4 days via USPS to get to me
here in central Wisconsin*. Also, if you're interested in the *PIZZA
LUNCH*, *I've got to have your registration and check in hand BY MAY
27th* so I can order enough food!!! *AND May 27th IS ONLY 12 DAYS AWAY*!!!

Here are the AU '26 details again...

*When:* Saturday, May 30, 2026  9:00 am - 5:00 pm (CDT)
*Where:* West Medicine Lake Community Club, 1705 Forestview Lane North,
Plymouth, MN 55441
*Conference Fee:* $5 Individuals; $7 Family; Free to first-time attendees

In the morning hours, the club runs an outdoor antenna range from 0900
to 1130 (weather permitting). The morning also allows for socializing,
show and tell, and casual demonstrations. Members are then on their own
for lunch. The technical programs start at 1300 and typically run until
1700 or 1730.

We have a great afternoon technical program lined up...take a look!!!:

*Afternoon Session: Technical Program*

1:00 pm NLRS Business Meeting

1:40 pm Building the 5760 MHz W1GHZ Transverter by Charlie Betz, N0AKC

2:05 pm Some New Adventures in EME by Charlie Betz, N0AKC

2:30 pm Optical communications Update by Rob Jahnke, K0XL

3:15 pm The Excitement of 10 GHz Rainscatter While Portable by Bruce
Richardson, W9FZ

3:45 pm AI-Assisted 222 MHz Yagi-Uda Design by James “JB” Anderson, K8OS

4:30 pm The 222.057 MHz W0ZQ/B Using the RFZero Board by John Platt, W0ZQ

Note that the afternoon session starts off with the business
meeting...yeah, I know, snooze city, especially after all that tasty
pizza! *But this year we have 2 very important constitution & bylaws
issues to vote on: The first is a revision to the club's definition of
"a member in good standing", and the second relates to the definition of
a quorum.* The details are contained in last year's Aurora minutes,
which are posted on the club's website here:
https://nlrs.club/docs/Aurora25MeetingMinutes.pdf Please read them
before the meeting so that you are informed of the issues so we can buzz
through business meeting and get on to the technical program! If for
some you can't attend Aurora this year, or you're unable to stay for the
afternoon program, please *VOTE BY PROXY!!!* It's very simple!!! Just
read the AU25 minutes discussing the 2 issues and send me (Janice,
KA9VVQ, your friendly secretary and treasurer) an email at
ka9vvq at fastmail.us whether you agree with the changes or not. That's it!
(But sorry to hear you can't make this year's Aurora conference!)

More about Aurora can be found on the club's website:
https://nlrs.club/#Aurora%20Conference. The registration form is at the
bottom of the Aurora Conference section.

Aurora is always a good time to see, learn, and to share ideas with
like-minded fellow VHFers.  If you know of someone who has a growing
interest in this facet of our amazing hobby, invite them along.  Please
share this information with others.

I hope to see you at this year's conference!

73,

Janice, KA9VVQ
NLRS secretary and treasurer
