GM all,

The 10GHz beacon is on the air for initial testing
 details

EN13VB

8 watts at the slot antenna (20 machined slots)

Q65D 60 Second and CW and Tone

Q65D is on the even minute, then about 30 Secs of CW and then tone
.

Tune to 10,368,173.00 for Q65D – 1500Hz – 60 Second

In CW mode, CW Zero beat at 10,368,174.300

All GPS locked

Beacon up about 30’ and have excellent reports from EN21ci – 120 miles from
W0LGQ – He has decoded every sequence since 0152 yesterday with -6 to -7
consistently with a few aberrations, like a few +00s.

Interesting as I thought with the cold WX coming thru and lots of wind, that
it would mess up any potential propagation, but its been going for ½ a day
now and working well.

Please email me or on the reflector for reports, that would be much
appreciated. Km0t at arrl.net <mailto:Km0t at arrl.net> or my reflector email.
Pictures of waterfalls, WSJT screens, videos with audio, etc. appreciated.

With the cool temps, the beacon will remain on. When things get heated up
like 90F outside, I’m not so sure. I have had the heatsink temp to 103F,
and things are getting warm, but with higher outside air ambient temps, I
don’t know yet what it can handle.

At 103F the internal fans were already full speed for cooling and not sure I
can get any more air flow when the outside air ambient temp gets around
100F. Anyone have any comments on how much those little amps can handle?
According to the Khune, the temp of their amps are rated for +55C which is
131F. So perhaps I still have some headroom. The amp I’m running is from
Bert, PE1RKI.

Its currently 35F outside, heatsink temp is 50F.. so It appears that its
going to be around 15 degrees about ambient
we will see if that delta
figure changes as we get into more normal temps.

Thanks – 73

Mike – KM0T

PS – Still trying to procure a beacon site remote from the home QTH here

its blowing away my 10GHz terrestrial and EME systems :)
