Just an off the wall idea but how about the top 15 minutes of the hour
everyone go SSB/CW for 15 minutes... You digital guys can pick up more
points and those of us who are analog can do the same.
If you think your antenna is to small you may be surprised... unless
conditions are really bad a small antenna can work a long ways! I can
hear a horizontal outdoor loop at 125+ miles!
So give it a try!
Same goes for all of us, even bigger stations like mine can pick up more
points if we look for each other at a certain time. I run 750 to 1,000
watts to four M2 2m12 antennas. 12 elements on a 20 foot boom, mast
mounted preamp... WD9BGA/b beacon is audible here 90+% of the time, 350
miles from me, it runs 10 watts to a pair of loops!
When you call CQ make sure to give your grid square! Helps locate you
faster!
