If you can make it to Superior for the 10G+ contest, I will have a good 5.7 rig there!

It would be fun!

I have 5.7ghz and 10ghz now. We will have to try again soon Barry and Mike. I am working on getting it all on the tower. 73’ de N8PUM Brandon EN66dl

Hi Mike,

Its really good to hear from you. Sorry for the storm damage..there certainly has been some big storms around..even up here!

I am ready to go with 5.7 digital and >100W. I was in the process of locking my 5.7 but I had some issues with the DigiLO, but good now and I dont think I got to upgraded done ( just too many bands and EME !)

i put up a Wavelab 24 GHz rig on the tower late last fall, but it had some issues with the PLLs not locking reliably. I have replaced the Wavelab board with a newer EU version and it works FB. I have added an EME class LNA and should be putting it back on the tower soon. You and N0UK are about the only stations to play with and I think we have a chance to set some records with the thinner air in the North and using Rain Scatter.

I am looking forward to seeing many of you at Central States next week

Hi all,

The week before July 4 th , Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, we experienced high winds and lots got destroyed here again at ARS KM0T. Mostly the HF stuff I spent building back the last 6 months all got trashed…. Large multiband HF yagi, 40/30 yagi, etc., 62’ 80 rotatable dipole. Basically most of the things that got destroyed in the Late July Derecho last summer got trashed again.

Hence, no 6M and 2M for some time yet. The 222 EME system is rebuilt but needs to get on the tower yet, as I did not reinstall back on the house where it got trashed last July. The 10GHZ EME 1.8M dish survived again, which is great, what a trooper that system is.. just needed to recalibrate the Az heading again.

Anyway, the terrestrial microwave / 222-432 tower did not get damaged this time and I managed to eck out a few contacts during the opening the last number of days, although no real DX as we were shut out of the major tropo to the east coast.

With that I managed to get my 5.7GHz dish back on the tower, where I spent some time over the winter getting it locked with a bodnar so its digital ready. I got it all installed yesterday and tested mostly today, but I think its ready. 20 watts solid at the feed. (sorry Barry, no 24 GHz yet back on the tower, that rebuild is getting close)

So those of you asking recently for 5.7GHz contacts, let me know. I could use a few new grids too… The WIFI interference here is minimal from what I can tell, so that’s a good thing.

Would like to test with some Q65 as well for those set up for it. Please get hold of me.

See you all at CSVHFS
