You inspired me to do a rove.

I was going to do south of the Twin Cities, since Scott county had no activity
posted. But there are now planned activations, so I'll head north. I plan to
hit the following: RAM, ANO, CHS, PIN, KNB, ISA, MIL, BEN, SHE

I'll operate in motion (my daughter agreed to drive, as long as I wear
headphones), so I should hit them in that order, more or less as long as it
takes to drive to the next. I think I'll be exclusively on 20 CW, but I might
try other bands or modes. My 40 meter QRP signal leaves a lot to be desired,
so I probably won't get too many close in contacts.

> And now a plug for a really fun HF event.? ??
> VHFers, unplug those IF rigs and connect them to some wires!? The Minnesota
QSO Party is this Saturday, Feb 7th, running from 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM, 160
through 10m, phone and CW.? Sorry, no digital.? For Minnesota based stations
you send your first name and county, like "Jon in Hennepin".? ?Its important
that you call "CQ Minnesota QSO Party" as the non-Minnesota stations will be
hunting for you.??Stations outside of Minnesota reply will reply their first
name and their state/province like "Jane in West Virginia".? ?Full rules and a
bunch of information can be found on the MWA website at?MN QSO Party ?
Minnesota Wireless Association
> On that same website, the sites Planned Activity Map shows that 72 of our 87
counties have planned operations.? The remaining counties that currently don't
have any known planned active stations are?Big Stone, Clearwater, Cook,
Houston, Kittson, Koochiching, Lake of the Woods, Mahnomen, Marshall, Norman,
Polk, Red Lake, Scott, and Traverse.?
> If you know of a local club, or a group, in those counties that may like to
play in this fun relaxed event drop them a note.? The weather looks to be good
for Minnesota pretty much state wide.? As all MN stations are running 100
watts or less, there is lots of room for "weaker" mobiles and portable
stations to play.? ?You can be rare DX by activating one of these unclaimed
counties with 100 watts and a hamstick or portable dipole; think POTA.? ?In
fact, you can activate a POTA location AND collect a MnQP log.??
