I will not be on for this weekends September VHF contest and will also miss at least a part of the following weekends 10GHz contest. I may be available on Sunday, Sept 21, for some 10G Q's, tbd. I currently have two of the NLRS club 10GHz loaner systems, both the 3 watt types. If someone want to use them you need to contact me and pick them up no later that Friday, Sept 12, which is a week before the 10 GHz contest.

I want to start the discussion about the second 10 G weekend. We can
talk more this Saturday at breakfast.
Jim, KØKFC's, QTH is not available this time. A couple of sites have
been suggested. EN15lj is a great site but the time is rather short to
make arraignments for the SD sites. There are two ops who have said they
will go, Donn, WA2VOI, and Jon, WØZQ. However Jon will not be on the
air, so the SD site isn't practical. The other site is Monticello,
EN35cg, on the north side of the Mountain Bike course. The problem here
is that the site only has views to the NW though N to about East. The
rover routes are into NE Iowa and SW MN NW Iowa so Monti doesn't work.
Unless someone else has a better site I suggest the Whitetail Woods
Regional Park/ Vermillion Highlands site Southeast of Rosemount.
EN34lq07CA. To get to this site take MN 3 south to 170th St, then East
to Station Trail. The road to the site is between Akron Ave and Annette
Ave. Alternately take US 52 south to County 46/ 160th St E. Then South
to 170th St E and continue to Station Trail. Continue as above. See
attachment #1.
If you set up in the area indicated by the red square and barring trees
in the way the views can be from 113°, through South all the way to
270°. There are trees to the North. However if you are willing to move a
few yards to the west to get around the trees, then there could be a
path North. The topo map shows the red box to be the highest point
within a short distance. However, other sites show the high point a
little further to the south. The best operating location will have to be
determined by on site inspection. See attachment #2.
Here is what I know about the ops this weekend.
Rovers: WBØLJC, Gary. Saturday planned start is EN43fi, Hanover. I have
a few skeds with stations to the East and it's a great site back north.
Then using previous sites travel south ending the day near Oelwein.
Sunday start near Manchester, IA and run along US 20 for a few sites
before turning back north along US 63. I am hoping for better weather
this year, no rain, at least not on me or the other end of the paths.
Rover#2: Chris, NØUK and Holly, KØHAC. Southwestern MN and NW Iowa.
Actual route to be determined.
Fixed site(s):????
Home stations:???
Not On: KØKFC, Jim. WØZQ, Jon Saturday. Maybe on Sunday.
Please let me know your plans/ ideas.
