[NLRS] Icom 706 ptt amp line

I have some amplifiers that have a PTT to ground for transmit as opposed to rf sensed. 6, 222, 2 meters right now. Am I reading the manual correct in that I can use the ACC plug with pins 2 and 3 connected to the ptt amp phono jack  to activate the amp?  This is the 706 not the MK2...if that makes a difference.
