[NLRS] NLRS Breakfast SATURDAY 13 Jul 2024. READ NOTE.

The monthly breakfast is this Saturday, 13  July 2024:  'odd-numbered' month, so the 
Golden
Corral in MAPLEWOOD.

Everyone is welcome... we don't bite - - honest.

FIRST:

 The MAGIC Repeater Tailgate event is ALSO on the 15th, 8AM to 12 noon.  Its at Galilee
Lutheran Church, 145 N McCarron's Blvd,  Roseville, MN 55113.  N McCarron's Blvd is 1/2 mi
South of the MN36 - Rice Street intersection.  The Church is on the right (west side of
the street).  Parking is along Mc Carrions or at the parking lot maybe 100 yds past the
entrance to the Swapmeet.

I plan on being there at 8AM for a quick walk-thru.

That said, there is STILL time to get to Breakfast (we'll excuse you if you're a few
minutes late !).
The EASIST way to get to the Golden Corral is take MN-36 east to White Bear Ave, and go
north to Woodlyn Ave and turn east.   !  SEE BELOW !

I noticed today that there are signs on WESTBOUND MN36 that the road will be closed from 
Friday 9PM to Monday 5AM.  There wasn't any indication where, exactly, the closure would 
occur but weekend before last  it was I-35E westbound to I-35W northbound.  I did not any 
signs that EASTBOUND MN36 would be affected.  From the east, you should be able to get to 
White Bear Ave OK, but NOT to Rice Street.  I-694 east to Rice Street then south on Rice 
to McCarron's Blvd should work.  Eastbound on MN36 shouldn't be a problem.

OTHERWISE:
The Golden Corral is located at 3000 White Bear Ave, Maplewood, MN 55109.  This is a small
strip mall on the east side of White Bear Ave in the SE corner of White Bear Ave and
Woodlyn Ave.  (Woodlyn is a block south of  County Rd 'D'.)   The Golden Corral is a bit
hard to see, but the Aldi's Supermarket is very obvious... Golden Corral is next door to
the east.

Start time is 0900.  Discussion has been know to last past
1030 or even 1100.  You are encouraged to bring 'show-n-tell' items:
current projects, history, etc.  Just talking (complaining ?) about the weather gets
boring.

Speaking of weather:  Long range forecast for Saturday looks good.  20% chance of 
thundershowers Friday night, with temps around 70.  Saturday sunny, high of (maybe) 90. 
South wind, 5-10 mph.  Hope to see you there.
