While more stations on the air would be nice, we certainly appreciate those operators who were on the air this past weekend. Thanks to other ops playing radio, we had stations to work. We finish the weekend very gratified with conquering the challenges of terrain and trees.
We found some great views. But we also spent hours driving through scenic Wisconsin NOT finding views for 10GHz 😊 .
We liked taking a break for a picnic lunch each day. We even had a short nap on Sunday.
The highlight was 463km from EN44hh to EN15lj. It's amazing that those guys heard us.
We ran with AD7OI, KC0P, W9ZIH, and K0AWU where the effort did not result in complete Qs. Sometimes nothing was heard and sometimes only enough in one direction.
While I thought we sent our grids properly most of the time, apparently we didn't send the correct grid that we were in and it contributed to confusion on the other end. Nothing that a few extra transmissions couldn't remedy. For the mis-sends, we apologize.
We are REALLY pleased with all of these long-distance contacts. We found them challenging but rewarding.
I've attached a graphic of our rove but the image can be found at:

Microsoft fed me a memory of a picture from 2006 when a group of us were out roving. The picture says we were at EN25aa.
