Hi Everyone,

A few changes since yesterday. Changes are *****.

Here is the basic info:

Rovers:  WBØLJC, Larry, WA9TT, Chris NØUK and Holly KØHAC.

Rover liaison phone number--Holly  612-719-6351

****Rover Group #2: , VA3ECO and VE3SA. They will start near the boarder
and work south, moving further then 10 miles if they are not getting any
Q's. Overnight in Fargo. Call or Text to: 480-313-1091. Barry is letting
them use his phone for the weekend.

Rover Group#3: KA9VVQ, Janice, and W9FZ, Bruce. They plan to be on from
Wisconsin. They plan to start the day Saturday in EN44vp and the EN44sn.
Then travel West along US10, ending the day somewhere in the general
area of Elk Mound, Eleva, Durand. More if I hear from them.

Fixed#1 at the SD sites: KØKFC,  WØZQ, NØKP and WA2VOI both days.

*****KØSHF on Saturday. Lenny has said that he will have another op with
him. NO0X plans to use one of Lenny's rigs on Saturday while in SD. Then
EN26cg Sunday morning and Inspiration Point EN26fd during the afternoon.
Phone Lenny at 612-916-0261.

The fixed sites are the Wilmot Rest Stop, EN15lj86HO on Saturday and
then at the Nicollet Tower site EN15KP48BG, on Sunday.

Fixed site liaison phone number--Jon, 952-807-3816.

KØMHC, Jim, will NOT be able to get on this weekend. He has visitors
arriving on Friday. Maybe able to be on for September.

Donn, WA2VOI, has checked on the availability of the Nicollet tower site
for Sunday.  The site is a go for Sunday. Donn has received permission.
Donn is coordinating with those at the fixed site. If you plan to go
there and need it, I will send you his information.

WFØT, Warren, will not be able to be on for the August weekend. He does
plan to be on for the September weekend.

Jon, WØZQ has supplied the following extra information:

  * Dave & I have Friday and Saturday night reservations at the Days Inn
in Watertown, SD.  Prices were good.  Have not heard from others.
  * I am currently planning on bringing my 902 and 1296 rover setup to
work (hopefully) VE4MA, K0AWU, W0AAT, maybe AC0RA and anyone else
who needs SD and EN15 on one of these bands. Probably SSB/CW only.
This is a secondary activity as 10 gigs comes first.  Call me for a
    try.
  * For Saturday, from Watertown to the rest stop is ~ 35".  For Sunday
from Water Town to the Nicollet Tower its a good hour.  Just a heads up

Fixed site #2:VE4MA, Barry from his home QTH. Goal is to work rover
group #2 for the most part.

Fixed site #3: NBØM, Ed, has said he will be on from home, on his garage
roof. He is in EN34gl

*****Possible Fixed site#4: Evelyn, WBØVHF, may be on from the Flying
Cloud Airport access road Saturday afternoon. She was hoping to make the
trip to SD, but other commitments got in the way.

Others:

*****KC0P, Mel, has convinced Carol to give him some time off from
cleaning the garage. Saturday from EN34oa. Sunday EN34ua but   he will
be unavailable fro Noon to 2:30 PM. Phone 612-804-4460.

****Missouri ops. Staying near home for the weekend. Most likely they
will be on from EM49hq. Best chance for them is Saturday evening. Kevin
and Tammy will be at EM49hq during the weekend. Phone them at
602-694-0851. They run a 2' dish and 60W.

*****K9JK, John plans to be on Saturday in the Chicago area. Operating
sites are EN61av76 and EN51xr05. Phone 847-525-7373. We may be able to
run with him Saturday evening but some rain scatter or good tropo would
really help us work him.

KØAWU, Bill, will be available from home in EN37ed. Call for sked.

For MN ops who may be on from home or near home. The distances to these
stations from the rover sites are on the short side and the paths poor.
However, given the short paths the "locals" should be workable from most
of the rover sites.

N9EM, John, at best a maybe. Elevation problems with his dish and a
planned move of equipment to a 10 story building site hasn't occurred.
Willing to listen for a signal.

WD9BGA, Karl, his 10 G equipment isn't working because of a failed
rotor. Small chance that he gets it replaced before the contest.

KCØSKM, May be on from an unknown site near Alexandria. He is in the
process of moving to the area. If he is in the area for the weekend he
will try to get on. He doesn't have his equipment in Iowa, so no
activity from there.

ACØRA, Wyatt's has made no plans at this time.

W9ZIH, Ron will be on. Call for sked.

WQØP, Greg, will be on for home in EM19wf. 8 W to a 2' dish at 30'.

K9TMS, Tom, will try to be on from someplace near home, possibly
Grayslake, Ill. I don't have any further information at this time.

W9HQ, David, has found out that he can be on for a short time from a
site near home. He is still working on getting his equipment checked
out. More when he decides on his operating QTH.

Not on this time: NØAKC.
NØLNO & NØUTP don't plan to be on for the contest.

W7XU, Arliss, will not be able to be on for the first weekend. He hopes
to be on for September.

****No word from KCØSKM or ACØRA. They had both expressed interest but I
haven't heard anything from them recently. They may surprise us.

WBØEBG, Ray will not be on for August but plans for be on for September.

****W9HQ, David had planned to be on from Wisc. He won't be able to get
on as he has some lumberjack work to attend to in the road.

Most of the sites I have looked at have limited views in any direction
other then to the fixed site. There are a few that are good to the
South, especially the Kiester site. It would be used after 6PM on
Saturday and early morning on Sunday, probably not much later then 8 AM.

Operating times 7:30 AM to 6 PM on Saturday. Sunday 7:30 AM on Sunday
until 5 or 6 PM. I am willing to find sites if anyone will stay on later
either day, especially Sunday. For the longer shots we would start
earlier and stay later either day.

73, Gary WBØLJC
