[NLRS] AU possible Dec 1

Yes, but the ARRL 160m contest is this weekend too.  I come across a lot of VHFers on the other end of the spectrum !
If this pending CME does produce a strong AU, watch for auroral E's on 6 and 2m around midnight, plus or minus a bit.  If you want some fun, Google the Harang discontinuity which is when auroral Es occur.  During a strong aurora that demonstrates the usual Doppler "buzzing" distortion, suddenly the distortion may disappear leave a clean pure tone signal.  That's a clue its auroral Es.  Some years ago (!) I worked N1BUG in ME on 2m aurora Es.  Also, its a good time to be looking for Alaska stations, especially on 6m.  During that same event that I worked N1BUG I remember hearing dozens of S9+ KL7 stations on 6m.
Will this event be that strong?  Probably not, but close maybe (?), so it bears watching.  If you hear/work some stuff, lets hear about it.

Maybe so, but its good and VHF and lower microwave, which is what NLRS is all about.

Crummy timing to be sure. Au isn't a great propagation aid at 1.8Mhz...

G3 (STRONG) GEOMAGNETIC STORMS NOW LIKELY ON 01 DEC WITH A FULL HALO CME published: Wednesday, November 29, 2023 18:58 UTC With 3 CMEs already inbound, the addition of a 4th, full halo CME has prompted SWPC forecasters to upgrade the G2 Watch on 01 Dec to a G3 Watch. This faster-moving halo CME is progged to merge with 2 of the 3 upstream CMEs, all arriving at Earth on 01 Dec. G3 (Strong) conditions are now likely on 01 Dec. Continue to monitor spaceweather.gov for the latest updates.
