                    Microwave Spring Sprint - 2023

Call: W0ZQClass: Single Op LP
QTH: EN33en

Summary:
Total:  QSOs = 21  Max Dist(km) = 633  Total Score = 6,644

Club: Northern Lights Radio Society

Comments:Went hill topping with my rover to far southern MN, EN33en.  There was a stationary weather front draped E/W across southern MN that affected propagation, some good, some bad.  Working north across the front was difficult with what should have been easy ~ 200 km Qs being S1 CW.  However the front was producing some rain to the south in IA and E/W propagation seemed fair to good.  While I was able to avoid much of the rain myself the wind was from the east gusting to over 35mph such that I had to move my Subaru around to shelter the 5.7 and 10G dishes to work various directions. I can still hear the wind whistling through my ears.  Best DX by band with #Q's in () is as follows:  902 456km(5), 1296 456km(4), 2304 456km(3), 3400 456km(1), 5.7 303km(2), 10G 633km(6).  That 633km 10G contact was with N0OY (EM18ct) on RS as was the 525km 10G contact with WQ0P in EM19wf.  Thanks to K9PW/R for all the nice 456km Qs on all bands except 5760 too, those were tropo.  73, Jon
PS:   The CSVHFS 6m Spring Sprint is next Saturday evening.  Weather permitting I plan to be operating as W1AW/0 from EN24 on digital (as that is the mode I signed up for), but will also visit SSB/CW as W0ZQ as conditions permitting.  I hope to drum up lots of 6m activity then._._,_._,_
