Another June contestin the books. Amazing the shift to digital. CW and SSB QSOs were in such shortsupply. It is nice to have that OPTION but instead of an option it is becomingthe norm. 6 meters was going hot and heavy most of the contest period. The SSBactivity on 6 was better on Sunday than Saturday here and it was fun to say “hi”to old friends and wish each other well, but most Qs were FT8.
I had some 2m Esinto TX here Sunday afternoon. I saw it pop up on the stand alone 2meter SDRpanadapter as I was headed off to run the bands with Mel and Carol. I calledseveral min on and about 144.200 SSB but no luck. I heard a couple of weak voices, but not enough to work. FT8 on 144.174 had several signals and I worked EM11,12,13(3 stations),EM22,EL09,19. Fun, it had been a while since I had worked any 2mEs.
I have no idea howconditions were, really! Mel was very good copy on 2,222,432 and 902 Saturdayfrom EN33 and he and Carol were good yet later from EN43 on the same bands.Paul W0UC and I ran the bands through 1296 faster than ever I think on Saturdayas well. K2DRH could not be worked on 222 and 432 Sunday morning, that isunusual. Never worked K0SIX, K9MU,VE3KRP and limited digital only Qs with N0AKC.
Thanks Mel and Carol for rovering and looking for me :-)
