Thought I'd give this one a try. I'm all analog and want to challenge
myself to decode all the signals myself.

The start of the contest was great. AC0RA/R was easily worked on SSB from
500 miles out! After that I called and called for several hours. I
pointed in all directions and called at various times. Nothing.

In my book, VHF is dead. The challenge of hearing a distant stations (with
your ears) is over. Trying to improve your station to eke out another db
of gain....kaput. Now you just sit on one freq and let your computer do
it. No skill needed, no station improvements. There used to a challenge
to VHF and lots of activity. Not any more. Sad.
