[NLRS] FYI: FCC Approves Use of Galileo Global Navigation Satellite System in the US

A somewhat confusing 1296 situation is starting to clarify a bit. Here in the USA, our FCC has approved the use of the EU's GNSS but has not granted use of the Galileo E6 signal sub band which is transmitted over the 1,260 – 1,300 MHz frequency band.

What this may mean is that terrestrial use of 1296 may stay the same here in the USA but because of the limitations imposed in EU National countries, EME there may shift from 1296 to 1299 where higher power will still be allowed. And, or, it may results in 1296 and 1299 being used for EME depending on where you live.
The good news is that for US based terrestrial users of that band there will be no impact at this time. Not sure about Canada, perhaps Barry can comment on that.
