The Four Lakes Amateur Radio Club April membership meeting is this Tuesday.
Please join us on April 18th at 7:30pm CST in welcoming Dennis Kidder,
W6DQ, to our club. He will be presenting "Introduction to Amateur Microwave
Radio".

Radio Amateurs have always pushed the limits of communications, extending
the operating frequencies to both the lowest and highest possible.
Microwave is the realm above 1,000 MHz, and what is possible will surprise
you. We will describe a little history of the shorter wavelengths and show
how easy it is to get on microwaves!

We discuss getting started on a budget, details of the many activities that
take place, and how you can get involved. It's not as difficult as you may
think.

Dennis, from Inyokern California, became a Novice in 1969 (WN6NIA then
WA6NIA) and took an interest in microwaves in Engineering School while
obtaining his BSEE. It took him a while but over the past two decades, he
has expanded his experience in microwave communications, and with members
of the San Bernardino Microwave Society, accomplished some astounding
results.

Dennis is a retired System Engineer, having worked on large scale
information systems, satellite and battlefield communications systems, as
well as being the Chief Telecom Engineer during one of the largest Civil
Engineering projects during the last century.

As always we will have the meeting room open early, so feel free to join
and chat with other members beforehand. The program will start at 7:30PM
CST with a question and answer session for Dennis to follow.

Please see below for Zoom details and invite link.
