May I inquire as to how you made that conclusion? What were your signal 
levels and in what IF bandwidth? Was there any hint of audible tone in 
that bandwidth? What would the result of reducing that bandwidth to 
250Hz have been?

I operate all modes and find your conclusion presumptuous.
