I'm very sorry to hear of Wally's passing.  I certainly didn't know his as well as you did 
Bill, but he was a great friend none the less.

I first "met" Wally after I moved to Grand Forks.  In January of '76 I was helping to 
install the .94 repeater on the State Mill and Wally was a good test and reporter for us. 
Later, we chatted often on the repeater and once in a while on simplex.  Finally met him 
at a hamfest in Grand Forks late '76/early '77... don't remember.  He was the consummate 
gentleman, and always a good person to talk to.

He will be missed.
