As a follow up to Bruce's note regarding Central States, many of you that also attended Aurora'22 may remember Dave, N0KP's brief discussion around our own radio estates and helping our heirs once we are no longer here. Towards that end, and as many of you know, the CSVHFS conference banquet features a prize table that is getting tougher and tougher each year to fill based on donations from manufacturers and suppliers alone. When you register for the Conference please notice that their is a box to indicate that you will be bringing a donation to the ham and/or family prize table ... please give this some thought.
So in summary (hint hint) this is a good opportunity to both help reduce your radio estate a bit, donate to Central States, and increase the enjoyment of our hobby for someone else based on an item or two that may be collecting dust in your estate.

Subject: [NLRS] Central States VHF Society conference is a "go" for July 21-23, 2022 in La Crosse, WI
Hello Northern Lighters,
I was silent about the event for way too long on account of working behind the scenes trying to hammer out details and get our online registration going. Fortunately, Jon W0ZQ posted about the event on the reflector and some of you firmed up your plans.
Online registration has been up for about a week now and registrations are rolling in. We have 77 registered so far.
The bad news is that the event hotel (the Radisson) is full or nearly full. If you have a room booked at the Radisson, DON’T cancel it!!!! Contact us at registration at csvhfs.org to see if we can work out a hand-off to someone on our waiting list.
There are other lodging places available in the area. None of them are as good as the contracted rate we arranged, but most are better than full list price at the Radisson. The Radisson claims they are nearly full even at full price on the Friday night. (Their full price is $270/nt +tax.) . The lodging tab on our website has some lodging considerations. If you want to be on our waiting list, let me know at the email address mentioned above.
Take a look at https://2022.csvhfs.org and look at all the events we’ve got cooking. Then click on the registration tab to go through online registration and sign-up for the different events, meals, and features you want.
If you bring a spouse, PLEASE consider our family programs. The Thursday night Paddleboat dinner cruise on the La Crosse Queen is $55/each and will be social, filling, and fun. Friday and Saturday have family tours (info on website). The day trips will be more fun with more participants making it more social.
Bring antennas for testing on the range. Bring preamps and transverters for testing in the Noise Figure lab.
The banquet is a banquet. But it has a prize table!
The Party Suite will be going Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights.
We’d love to have you at the event. Questions? Let us know at registration at csvhfs.org .
