Hello NLRS land
Through the years operating as a rover I have had a positive experience with using a single 6, 2, 222, 432 radio. The down side of operating with one radio is that if I am on one band, I'm not on another. In June we see this issue as everyone disappears from the high bands when 6m is open as we often jokingly refer to the June contest as the 6m contest. In recent years this cv has been compounded by digital.
For this coming weekends contest I intend to try something different. I intend to take along a second radio that will be parked on 2m SSB all the time, probably spending most of its time monitoring 144.220 with occasional trips across the 2m band to check for analog guys calling CQ. I have never operated as a rover with a second radio like this so I need to first try it out in my driveway to see if it all works out OK without popping some frontends. If it works out as I hope it does I should be more easily reachable by giving me a call on 144.220.
