Here is a short update about this years August 20th and 21st 10 G
weekend on Lake Superior. Sorry if you are getting multiple copies of
this email. I am sending it out to many of the microwave reflectors to
spread the word.

I have had a good number of ops respond to my November emails.

On the Minnesota North Shore we have five ops who plan to operate on 10
G only.  There are four who plan to be on 10 G and some of the higher bands.

On the Michigan UP, the Copper Harbor area, Great Sand Bay and Brockway
Mountain I have heard from thirteen ops. The break down is seven or
eight ops on 10 G only and another five or six who will also have the
higher bands.

In Canada at Marathon, Ontario the response has been lower. There are
three ops who plan to operate on 10 G and the higher bands. I haven't
heard from him but I think there will be another op who is on 10 G only.
I expect there will be a few more people who join this group.

There are two ops who have said they will be 10 G only and will go to
either the MN NS or the Michigan UP.

There are another four who have said they are interested but unable to
say they can make the trip at this time.

In addition there are a number of Minnesota "locals" who I haven't heard
from.

Remember that August is tourist season around the lake so it is
worthwhile to check on lodging as soon as possible. There are limited
accommodations near the Copper Harbor operating sites and the northern
end of the MN NS route.

If you are interested and haven't responded to me, please do so. Then I
will add you to the list of ops. If you want more information and didn't
receive the November email, let me know. I will send you a copy so you
can get a feel for our operational methods and sites we plan to use.

This far in advance nothing is set in stone. Life can get in the way of
anyone's plans. So if it you have planned to join us and something comes
up to prevent you, we'll understand.

73, Gary WBØLJC
