Hello all
This weekend is the ARRL 222 & Up Contest running from 1pm on Saturday to 1pm on Sunday. Contest exchange is your six digit grid location, points are based on distance, and grids are not multipliers. However, in order to work a rover again the rover needs to be in a new four digit grid.
On Saturday I will start the contest in EN17ve looking to work all the VEs, Duluth and northern MN stations that I can. This location does not have a shot back to the Twin Cities or to the south. Depending on the success that I have there, its a short distance south to get into the northern end of EN16. I do not have a know operating location in EN16 so that part is a wild card. After this, its south along Hwy 94 to the Elbow Lake area and EN26ac where I hope to be able to work in all directions. Finally its down to just south of St. Cloud, EN25vj late in the day.
On Sunday my plan is to operate in the morning from the Cannon Falls site, EN34nl. If I have time (and energy) after this I may take the short drive down Hwy 52 to Hader, EN34oi, where you can work east and south from.
As a single man rover, please be aware that sometimes I get busy with driving, navigating, cell phone and working stations, so bear with me. Cell phone is the same, 952-807-3816 . I will also post to the Upper Midwest VHF+ spotting page found at https://www.w0uc.com/spots.html but I will not monitoring it. This will be a good spot to watch for me.
This is all for fun (??) and I am looking forward to working anyone willing to give it a try. I will have 222 through 10GHz and will be calling/listening on 222.100 and 432.100. I should be digi capable as well on at least 222 and 432, still working on the other bands. Long range weather forecast calls for some rain so maybe some regional RS Qs will be possible, hopefully not over me.
73, JonW0ZQ/R
