VHF'ers:
If you are receiving this email, you already are involved with the VHF/UHF
weak-signal part of our ham radio hobby. The Central States VHF Society is
an organization that is focused on VHF/UHF weak-signal operation and
activity. The CSVHFS is holding its annual conference this coming July 22nd
and 23rd in La Crosse, WI. The event will be at the Radisson Hotel in
downtown La Crosse.
We hope you are planning to attend. With gas prices like they are, perhaps
you'd like to bring along a friend from your area to split costs. We hope
you'll consider promoting the conference with your local clubs. La Crosse
is the closest the conference will be until at least 2024 onward. Help us
spread the "buzz" and spur folks to attend if they are intrigued.
If you are able to make a short presentation to your club about the upcoming
CSVHFS Conference in La Crosse, WI on July 22nd and 23rd, you might want to
use the short "powerpoint" that Janice KA9VVQ has prepared.
If you click on (or right mouse click to download) the following hotlinks,
you will see either "readme notes" or the presentation in either .pptx or
.pdf formats.
The directory is here: http://w9fz.com/ham/CSVHFS2022Promo/
The individual files in that directory are:
http://w9fz.com/ham/CSVHFS2022Promo/README_FIRST.pdf (105 KB)
http://w9fz.com/ham/CSVHFS2022Promo/LaCrosse2022.pptx (23 MB)
http://w9fz.com/ham/CSVHFS2022Promo/LaCrosse2022.pdf (3 MB)
The powerpoint attempts to give the viewer an idea of what goes on at a
CSVHFS Conference since they probably have never been to one before.
The presentation leaves them with the links on how to learn more. It's 16
slides and really ought to take 10 minutes or less to present. If you need
to make edits, the .pptx is editable but the .pdf is not.
Some of the folks in your club won't have any interest in VHF/UHF
weak-signal and technical conferences-their eyes will glaze over. But there
might be a few who are interested. Those are the ones we hope make the
effort to attend the conference with you. Your presentation may be just
enough to tip the scale for them. Back in 1994, Jerry WA9O (SK) encouraged
me to attend my first CSVHFS conference. I've been attending ever since!
We've heard from some of you mentioning which clubs you'd be willing to
contact with this kind of information. Perfect! It helps build the "buzz"
and enthusiasm for the event.
