Our area had over 50mph winds for a considerable length of time Monday around 8pm. Grand Rapids city was hit very hard. So much tree damage / taking homes, vehicles, power lines etc. Still many people in the city with no power.
Unlike some neighbors and town (6miles away) our damage was more of an inconvenience. 2 pickup loads of yard debris and 2 pickup loads for a 50yr old cedar on the beach. It's lost is transformative to what we are accustomed to. So Sad.
Boat action on the dock MOVED to dock several inches on the lake end. NOT EASY TO DO!!!! Dock legs bending under the strain. Pulled the legs and put them down again to take the strain off. Hopefully no actual damage to the dock.
902 and 1296 loopers are mounted opposite one another on separate attachments to the tower mast. They were "spun" on the mast and were "co mingled" on the director ends maybe 6ft from the end. Several 902 loops bent and misshaped. I managed to climb the tower and get that resolved this morning.
SO ..... we are as we were a week ago, just a week older and a little more tired.
I have CA family company through Aug 14th and radioing is not a high priority until they return home. I MAY be on some for the ARRL contest, but NOT SURE at all.
Take care all and stay safe. Wish I could be there for the "tail gate" !!
