So sad.  Good memories of Jerry from Central States, uW Updates, and Aurora gatherings not to mention a fine fine 10gig roving friend.  One memory that I have of Jerry was working him on 10G CW at about 30 wpm, Jerry pounding brass on a straight key.  Fine CW, just too fast for many.  Numerous requests to Jerry to slow down resulted in no effect as Jerry said that he could not send slower.  Next year we were out again 10giging and there was Jerry sending CW at 12 wpm.  When asked Jerry said that he had practiced sending slower.   Nice job Jerry, RIP my friend.

Fellow SCARC members,

It is with sadness that I share news of the passing of one of SCARC's
founding members, Jerry Johnson K0CQ.

I currently have very little detail about the circumstances, but he was
found deceased at home by a personal friend. There is currently no
information regarding funeral or memorial services, but I will share detail
as it is made available.
