Specs can be found at http://www.tesystems.com/am-radio.htm
Transverters (all 28MHz IF) priced at $200 each:
Elecraft XV432
Elecraft XV222
Elecraft XV144
All work as they should. I have NOT adjusted the LO on these recently so
they are not exactly on frequency. All are jumpered for single antenna and
dual IF. Jumpered for 1mW maximum drive; we have been driving them with
less than a milliwatt to keep the output power around 5 watts to drive
the TE amps. They can be jumpered for up to 8 watts IF drive. They can
make about 20 watts on their own with sufficient drive. I believe all have
the crystal ovens installed.
Buy more than one transverter? interconnecting IF cables/adapters are
available to sweeten the deal. The cables in use are a mix of RG-8X and
RG-174 BNC to BNC, plus BNC T adapters on the elecraft transverters.
Down East Microwave 1296-28H5 $300
This is a 1296 transverter and amplifier in one package. set up for dual
IF/single RF. I measure 16 watts out with about -6dBm drive as indicated on
the K3. Modified with relays in the IF path that disconnect from the IF
chain when not selected, similar to the Elecraft units. Requires an aux
input to be pulled low to select (can just jumper with a shorted RCA plug).
Please contact me off reflector at k0bbc at arrl.net if interested or have
questions.
