Hi All -

Well that was a learning experience! I borrowed one of the W0AUS loaner
rigs and had it tuned up by W0ZQ. I built a four foot tall platform that
would get me (and the dish) above the corn. From about 45 degrees through
180 degrees, I can see for a couple miles from my QTH. In other directions
there are trees or buildings on my property.

I was able to make 28 QSO's during the weekend. 24 of the Q's were
with the rover team of W0ZQ and WB0LJC. I also worked KC0P, N0HZO, W0GHZ &
N0KP once.

Going through my learning curve was interesting! The rig drifts, so I was
looking up & down the band, while also swinging the dish side-to-side and
up & down. Three variables made it tough to find some stations.

My best DX was 241 km. I worked four separate grid squares and scored
5,241 points.

Thanks to everyone for their patience!

Rich N0HJZ
