[NLRS] IC-746Pro/FT8 Setup

We've have been fighting to get our IC-746Pro running on FT8. We have a 
simple interface (audio isolation on TX/RX and USB to serial for PTT) 
but cannot get it going. The interface works fine on AFSK RTTY (MMTTY) 
but nothing tried even gets the rig keying, much less getting TX audio 
to it, on FT8.

We have a CI-V interface for reading frequency and the '746Pro does 
permit PTT keying via the CI-V cable but we cannot get that working 
either. It's a mystery as to what we're missing but would like to have 
everything working for Saturday. If not, then we'll be in 6-meters only 
with FT8, in addition to CW and SSB on both bands, of course.

Any suggestions?
