[NLRS] Those wind profiler 222 beams that were available backwhen...

222 yagi elements will roughly be around 23 to 26" in length.  So I would guess that that 10 element yagi is indeed a "222" yagi albeit D8 at 19.25" is pretty short, so its probably a "broadband" 222 yagi intended to cover FM as well.  Probably not optimized for 222 weak signal work, but hey, its got gain!
The antenna with the 33.5" elements appears to be made for something roughly around 176 MHz.   What is there?  Business band?
For the vertical, measure the length of the radials.  They will be 1/4 wavelength on the frequency of interest.  The vertical part is some type of collinear, but the radials are 1/4 wavelength.

Hi Donn,

Good point and a tiny bit of data I failed to include.  My notes here say
that on the beefy one that I think is the "wind profiler", the first
director (D1) in front of the DE is 33.5".

On the other antenna that I think is 222 (10-ele), the D1=24" and the
D8=19.25"

I don't expect that to be enough info. I will collect more data the next
time I'm in the barn.
Thanks for your thoughts.

Hi Bruce.

Measurements would help: first three elements (reflector, driven el & 1st
director) and spacing of same.

I don't know of a "wind profiler" in the 220 region but it  possible.  There
is (was ?) one in SW MN at 449 MHz (in the Mil band).  Allocation table says
"Government - Fixed and Mobil" between 225 and 328 MHz and "Non-government"
with no classifier.  A note says "FAA provides air traffic control
communications to the military services on selected frequencies in this
band."  I suppose that could mean wind shear data.  Also, isn't 243 MHz a
military airborne Emergency channel ?

They look like nice antennas, especially the 10 el.
