Your 2 meter beam from home can give you a strong hint of the direction
to the noise source.
An AM 2m receiver in the mobile is very effective at locating the noise
source. 2m RF noise doesn't propagate along power lines very well, it
radiates completely in half a span between poles. At 75 meters noise
propagates along power lines for miles.
