Good morning . I have successfully removed and slightly modified several of the FAA cavity amplifiers from the K0FQA estate. Not an easy task as the cavitys' must be completely removed from the cabinet and stripped down to the bare cavity .... Using an ANIRITSU Site master in the swr measurement mode , I have the output cavity tuning upwards of 439 MHz and the input cavity portion tunes to over 450 MHz . These measurements were performed with the RCA / BURLE 4661 tube in it's socket but no voltages applied .As time allows , I will mount a couple of cavities to a custom made chassis , add metering and get the correct supplies put together for the filament , grid and screen needs of the tube ( the cavities are in a grounded cathode configuration ) . It appears that one of the power supplies that I acquired at the FQA estate may be enough for a B+ supply with a simple B -circuit modification . Just a FYI .... If anyone is interested , I have phone pictures available via direct email or text at 952.201.0831.....
