Zack, ditto here.  A laptop is a level of complexity that I just don't want/need in the already busy world of solo roving.  This is one reason why I have not been roving as much recently, especially June when everyone is on 6m FT8.   A tip of my hat to Wyatt and other rovers who have been successful in making such a transition.  73, JonW0ZQ

When I operate portable in VHF contests (which is nearly all of them) I do
not take a computer along. I probably never will. I log on paper and
transfer log to computer when I get home. So I am not going to get to
operate FT8 during contests. Oh well ...
