[NLRS] 6 meters for meteor scatter and ft-991a

Hi Paul.   I am no expert and defer to others who may be able to help.   The one comment that I have is to check your rigs frequency accuracy.  On MSK144, in the drop down box that appears in the middle of the main screen, what do you have the "F Tol" set to?   Signals must appear within 50.260.000 +/- F Tol in order to decode.  So, if you are hearing signals but are not decoding them, they may be outside of this narrow freq range.  So make sure F Tol is set to "200", make sure you are using USB, and last, if you have a freq counter or can borrow one, check the rigs frequency accuracy.  I know on my FT2000D, on 6m, my display freq is low by 200 Hz, so I set my dial to 50.260.200.   If I set it to 50.260.000 I don't see any decodes.  Doubt that you need a preamp. Hope this is helpful. 73, JonW0ZQ  -----Original Message-----

Subject: [NLRS] 6 meters for meteor scatter and ft-991a

Morning,

I’m working on 6 meter msk144 meteor scatter, using an ft-991a.

Right now I’m deaf as a post. I can get out, and people can hear me, but I just don’t get decodes.

Is anyone using this set up, and if you are, should I be using a preamp?
