[NLRS] FS: FT-897d bad display

A few years ago there was a ham in the US offering repair of displays in 
the similar FT-857D control head. I'd have to dig for hours to find a 
reference. I know WA0ROI got a faulty 857 fixed from that source. 
Another possibility for fixing might be Radio City in Mounds View, MN. 
They fixed one of my 857 control heads that needed a couple shaft 
encoders broken by it falling on the knobs.

Loss of display could be a problem in the display itself or power to it 
or connections to the display device, or a failure in the cable between 
the radio main frame and the control panel. I know that control cable 
for the 857D looks like a telephone cable, but actually the connectors 
are twisted compared to telephone cable where the connectors are aligned 
the same orientation at both ends. The telephone cable won't let the 
control module work, but a hand made telephone like cable with the ends 
oriented in the opposite directions does work whether a few inches or
