Hello Guys
Well we finally had a big band opening. I was on 432 and 1296.
We had an opening that covered from the Dakotas to the east coast and lasted all weekend into Monday evening. It may not be over yet.
W7XU in S. Dakota Arliss seems to have been the goal for the east coast gang. Everyone clambered to work him. The Canadians got into the thick of it. VE3ZV was S9+ Monday night at my place checking into the net. I heard several VE3s but QRM buried them. K1RZ in FM19 was the farthest east I worked on 1296 so I guess that makes the length of the red "blob" on the map over 1000 miles. North to south I guess roughly 800 miles. Only the deep south was left out as I saw it. The opening was as good as the best I have heard in all the years I have been on VHF/UHF beginning in 1957. If you missed it shame on you. Didn't hear any stations in far northern New England.
The net turned to chaos with the net frequency obliterated by a pile up.
Great fun.
