Janice has a red Suburu Impreza. She has outfitted it with a good DC supply
system and a Yeasu FT-857D. That rig covers three bands and with an
addition of a 222 Xverter, we'll be operating the four lowest VHF bands in
the upcoming VHF contest.
But the Vikings have impacted our plans. We will have fewer hours of
activity on Sunday so that we can knock off and go watch the game on TV.
Here's the equipment line-up:
6m: 100w to a hamstick.
2m: 50w to a VJB beam
222: 10w to a VJB beam
432: 20w to a VJB beam
We'll be chirping on APRS but not via RF. We'll be using cellphone to chirp
W9FZ-i (a little red rover symbol) .

Sure, we might be a bit weaker than other times you've worked us. But
familiarity with all of the local ops surely buys us a few db? We will
announce (periodically) on the calling freq, but we still think that being
up on 144.240 is better for you to hear our weak signals. We will update
the W0UC Midwest activity website soon. Remember, if you find us, you get
two Q's on account of "family rule".
