Hello NLRS land. As we know, the League has been improving their working tools regarding who is, and who is not, included in any club scores.  For VHF+, the League features a club competition for the following four contests each year; June VHF, 222 MHz & Up Distance Contest (August), September VHF, and the January VHF contest.    In order for YOUR score to be included in the NLRS club score, the following three conditions must be met:
   - You must list "Northern Lights Radio Society" as your club in your submitted log.
   - You must be on the club roster that our club Secretary maintains.  To be on our club roster you must be a member in good standing, which for us means that you need to have paid your $5 yearly dues.   For information regarding how and where to pay your dues, see our website at http://www.nlrs.org/home/club-meetings .
   - You need to have operated that contest within 175 miles of our clubs ARRL contest defined center, EN24xx.  Most op's operate from their home stations.
If you do not meet all three of the above criteria, your contest score will not count towards the clubs aggregate score.   How do you know if you meet these three criteria?   You should be able to handle item #1 above, i.e., make sure that you list "Northern Lights Radio Society" as your club in your log that you submit.   Also, you should be able to determine if you are within 175 miles of EN24xx.   Note that you can still be a Club member if you live outside of the ARRL 175 mile rule (as we are indeed a regional club), but your score cannot be counted in the ARRL contest club score.  Blame the League for this as its their contest and their contest rule.   Note that CQWW VHF in July uses 225 miles for their determination.    Regarding criteria #2 above, how do you know if you are listed on our ARRL contest eligible contest roster?  Janice, KA9VVQ, our clubs Secretary, works with the League (as do all other club secretaries), to maintain the roster.   Good news is that the ARRL now lists all club rosters.  You can see our current ARRL contest eligible club roster on the Leagues website at http://contest-clubs.arrl.org/viewlists.php  .   On this website, find and then click on Northern Lights Radio Society, then the most current list that you see, then scan the list for your call.  If you are not listed there, its either because your have not paid your yearly dues or because you are outside of the 175 mile ARRL club contest radius.   Again, dues can be paid anytime as outlined on our website at http://www.nlrs.org/home/club-meetings .  Note that we typically handle dues from Aurora to Aurora as many pay their "yearly" dues at that time. Now is a good time to confirm that you are on our clubs roster in preparation for the January VHF contest.  Let me know of any questions. 73, JonW0ZQ
