Hi Gary. Yes, you can count me in again for this interesting event. We'll (my wife and I for our anniversary) be staying at and I'll be operating from the UP again. Last time was great (all be it with good weather).
Hopefully, we can attract additional microwavers from outside the local area, especially with your advance notice. Do you need help contacting them?
My only suggestion is to somehow minimize the 24GHz interruption with the 10GHz rover schedules. Last time there were frequent delays and interruptions due to the 24GHz fiddle-factors. Perhaps delaying the 24GHz (and up) operations until AFTER all of the rover 10GHz QSOs have been completed from each site. Then the 24GHz (and up) operations can be completed while the 10GHz only rovers are moving to the next location. Once setup, they can commence their 10GHz operations without delay.
Don't get me wrong. The higher bands are important but, we may be able to accommodate both while minimizing interruptions and keeping everyone closer to schedule. It's in everyone's interest to maximize the number of rover stops per day (and minimize the waiting times).
With any luck, we'll have good tropo scatter, rain scatter, lake freighter scatter and maybe even airline scatter (during the down times) going for us. Here again, we don't want the digital fiddle-factors interrupting higher priority 10GHz rover operations.
Liaison with the Canadian North Shore and Eastern end of the lake near Wawa, Ontario (where necessary) other than using 10GHz itself???

Subject: Back to Lake Superior for August 2018 10G Cumulative
Hi everyone,
It's some time away, but it may be time to start planning for next years vacations.
The NLRS Microwave ops are planning to go back to Lake Superior for the August weekend, August 18th and 19th, of the 2018 10 GHz Cumulative contest. We invite all interested parties to join us.
The primary band will be 10 GHz, as that's the band all of the ops have equipment for, 24 GHz, where a number of ops have stations that should be operating and some 47 GHz and 76/8 GHz.
Barry, VE4MA, plans to bring all four bands and has loaner equipment for the higher bands that he would like to work from the Canadian North Shore to the Michigan UP.
Stations will be located on the Minnesota North Shore, the Michigan Upper Peninsula, the Canadian North Shore and maybe on the Eastern end of the lake near Wawa, Ontario.
If you are interested in joining us please let me know and start making your travel plans.
73, Gary WBØLJC
