I wanted to share a few photo's we took last night at the Cedar Valley
Amateur Radio Club (CVARC) meeting of Wyatt (AC0RA) and Gregg (KC0SKM)
holding the plaque for the CQ VHF contest this past July and sponsored by
the NLRS club.

Wyatt asked me to rove with him and I jumped at the opportunity (also means
I did not have set my rover up bonus!).. Usually we are in separate rovers
and this was a treat for me to see how Wyatt operates. Maybe I could learn
a few of his inside secrets of his success. I learned a lot when you rove
with Wyatt you understand why he wins and the drive to be in the top
scores. He has the ability to pull people out (voice recognition circuit
in his brain), remembers their call, remembers their grid.. He has total
recall... So he can just rattle off the Q's and fill the log so much faster
than I could ever.. We were at lunch and he was watching the spots and
notice that 6m opened and he said we need to go ... I guess lunch didn't go
as I had planned - which included I had hope included another cup of coffee
- not today !!!!.. So if the band is open..he is operating. Like in the
contest that 6m opened Wyatt did 60 q's in an hour.

I also have attached a funny picture of the fun rivalry we have in all
kidding, when the photos was taken a mutual friend put his finger over the
photo to cover up Wyatt.... most club meetings we will have members go
around the room discuss what's happening and activities club members have
been involved in... Last night we shared the spotlight together. In past
meeting I say I went roving in a contest and Wyatt beat me again...and I
was Wyatt's Grid Boy! So our friend knew of our rivalry and help me show
who really won. I had a great time and fun to team with Wyatt. More folks
should do a contest together.

It is an honour for us to receive the award and special to both Wyatt and
myself to have won the NLRS sponsored plaque - we plan to attend Aurora
again this year... And plan to bring the plaque. Thank you to the NLRS club
for the sponsorship and will be a special this year --- as it comes home to
club members of NLRS.

Thank you again to the club for encouraging the hobby through sponsorship
with CQ magazine.
