Hi Duffey:

Great to hear you will be in the area!

I'm busy at my checkride in Atlanta but will make updates to the website by this weekend.

Graphics like:

http://www.w9fz.com/eclipseomania/images/possible2.jpg

will get updated with current info. Key updates that really are going to add to the fun are:
K0KFC and WB0LJC (+others welcome) being fixed at Radar Hill near the Indian Casino near Yankton, SD. They will likely be there both days.
Ron KO0Z being (mostly) fixed near Centralia, MO for both days. The southern route and stations near Bethany, MO would be workable by him.
KM0T will NOT be on the air so that will be removed from the graphics.
W0LGQ has not answered an email asking if he'll be on-the-air that weekend--reverting to phone next to find out
AD7OI +xyl will be roving northeastward from Wichita, KS on Saturday and spending most of Sunday near Bethany, IA at 1 or more spots.

Currently (pending changes), Southern route rovers are WA2VOI, KA9VVQ, and W9FZ. Northern Route rovers are W0ZQ, N0AKC, and AC0RA.

Will K0CQ rove in NW Iowa and SW MN? Who will be on Buck Hill? Where will W0JT start and where will his path end up? Now things will start to gel as we get closer to the big weekend.

Duffey, as your plans firm up, let me know and I'll work them into the graphic

I will be in Nebraska and South Dakota for the first weekend of the 10GHz contest with my modest 10GHz setup. We are formulating travel plans now. We are preliminarily planning on getting to western Nebraska, perhaps North Platte, on Friday the 18th. Then operating on the 19th moving east, depending on where other’s activity is. Then, probably spending the night of the 19th in Mitchell, SD. From there I would rove or find a high spot to hang out or both. I have roved in VHF contests from the Corps of Discovery Welcome Center in EN12HT, on a bluff, in Nebraska south of Yankton on HWY 81. That was a good spot and probably worth staying at while others relocate. I think that several fixed stations with 10GHz capability are within range of that spot with my rig. I have 200mW Kuhne transverter with a KX3 IF to a 20dBi horn. I can work CW as well as phone.

What are other people’s plans for Eclipsemania? If possible, try to consider me in formulating them. I am flexible and would like to meet other 10GHz rovers in the area at least once, if that is possible. Keep in touch. Thanks - Duffey KK6MC — KK6MC James R.
