We have hotel reservations near Grand Island, Nebraska.  That seemed like the
best spot, since if the weather is bad, Interstate 80 would allow quick
relocation east or west.  I made reservations last August, and there were
still reasonably priced hotels at that point.

I don't plan on playing with the radio much during totality, but I think what
I'll do is set up a QRP beacon to operate (attended, sort of) on 80 meter CW,
to allow it to be picked up by the Reverse Beacon Network.  I was also
thinking of setting up a recorder and an AM radio tuned to some frequency that
didn't have signals during daytime, and see if anything comes in.
