Down to 4th in the world from 2016 3rd in the world for 10G only. Score
down to 42K from 67K. Eclipsomania wasn't as well preplanned as touring
Minnesota or Iowa working Buck Hill, and the fixed groups both weekends
didn't have the population typical of Buck Hill which hurts the rover
score. Gary worked 10 and 24 in August.

In 2017 I drove close to 3000 miles roving and about 500 scouting in NE
Iowa for September. Lake Superior will be interesting next August. In
2012 I drove 2200 miles for that weekend and wasn't a rover. I started
from home 9 days before the contest and did a lot of touring northern
Minnesota and the UP before the contest visiting three threshing shows
on the way. My Airstream isn't mobile at the moment, a new axle I have
bought but not intalled is one of my many stalled projects. I'd like a
bit more 10 GHz power and a better receiver. When roving alongside Gary,
there were occasions where he heard and worked stations that I couldn't
hear and they didn't hear me.
